Samuel Sitko
Holocaust survivor, Central Islip
Mollie Sebor's booklet on the Jewish community of Islip Town describes Adasse Farm in Central Islip as a sanctuary for Holocaust survivors after World War II. One named survivor was Samuel Sitko, who came to Central Islip at age 16 after the murder of his family at Auschwitz-Birkenau. The booklet notes that at least three other survivors are known to have found refuge at the dairy farm.
