Ruby and Doris Hodus

Founders of the Brentwood Jewish Center

On August 29, 1958, about 30 people met at the home of Ruby and Doris Hodus to discuss creating a Jewish sanctuary in Brentwood. On September 1, the Brentwood Jewish Center became the chosen name for a conservative congregation meant to serve the community.
